THE LIFESPAN OF BFRP REBAR

THE LIFESPAN OF BFRP REBAR

BFRP Rebar doesn’t rust, has the same thermal expansion coefficient as concrete, is resistant to water and alkaline, and is not affected by ultraviolet light, thus extending its life span to over 100 years.

Steel always rusts and corrodes, especially where moisture is present, and because steel has a different coefficient of thermal expansion than concrete, it causes buildings to crack and require frequent maintenance. In general, Steel has an average lifespan of 35 years.
On the other hand, BFRP Rebar doesn’t rust, has the same thermal expansion coefficient as concrete, is resistant to water and alkaline, and is not affected by ultraviolet light, thus extending its life span to over 100 years.
So, why are we not turning to Basalt Fiber?
Our company, Arab Basalt Fiber Company, encourages policymakers and decision makers to promote the use of basalt fibers as an alternative to steel rebar that does not rust.
